It is with much pride and hard work that Austin Junior
Forum Inc. has preserved this house for the use of the citizens of Austin. Individuals and organizations may
rent the house for meetings, receptions, and other celebrations.
Caswell House embodies
the rich tradition of its first occupants and reflects a volunteer spirit. The home's history is
as varied and colorful as the panes of its stained glass windows. As the Caswell's home, its
doors were opened to many notable turn-of-the-century families in the city. In the spring of 1900
when Daniel H. Caswell and his family moved into this house, it was located on the northwest
boundary of the city.
It was a block from the
streetcar line at 15th and Rio Grande and had a
beautiful view of the new Capitol. The hilltop site was ideal -- it had views of the western
hills and the benefit of the cool breezes to relieve the Texas heat. Christmas at Caswell is an
opportunity for Austin Junior Forum to share this beautiful home and raise funds for community
grants. During the holiday season this wonderful house is fully decorated to display all of the
Christmas spirit Austin Junior Forum has to offer.
The Caswell House is available for
Weddings/Receptions and business meetings. The house can accommodate up to 200 for a stand-up
reception, or 75-80 for a sit-down dinner party. An Affair To Remember Catering is an enthusiastic
supporter of the Austin Junior Forum.
