The grounds of the Austin
Museum of Art-Laguna Gloria have delighted visitors for many years. Stephen F. Austin
once owned the property, which he described as being "on the Colorado at the foot of the
mountains."
AMOA-Laguna Gloria is an outdoors venue that consists of
twelve acres of some of the most beautiful parkland in Central Texas, including a
mile of Lake Austin shoreline. Home to the Austin Museum of Art-Laguna Gloria, the
site features a Mediterranean-style house built in 1916 by Clara Driscoll, best known
as savior of the Alamo. The historic Driscoll house and surrounding grounds are listed
on local, state, and federal historic site registries. |
